Prebid Timeouts

Technical definition

The maximum duration allowed for demand partners to respond with their bids before the auction proceeds without them.

The ADLINGO translation

The cutoff point for how long the auction waits for demand partner responses before proceeding. Set it too short and fast-responding partners win by default, even when slower partners might have bid higher. Set it too long and page load suffers. Most publishers set timeouts between 1,000 and 2,000 milliseconds. Demand partners who consistently miss timeouts are telling you something about their infrastructure. Pay attention to bid response rates alongside win rates.
