Ad tech glossary

Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP)

Technical definition

An open standard developed by OpenAI and Stripe for checkout and payment inside AI assistants, letting an agent complete a purchase on a user's behalf.

The ADLINGO translation

The checkout layer for AI assistants. The agent finds the product and ACP completes the purchase without redirecting the user to a website. For advertisers, it collapses the funnel into a single conversation. For retail media networks, it raises a real question: if the transaction happens inside the chat, whose closed loop is it?
